Please ensure you follow the directions of the car park steward. The car park fields do fill up quickly so it is recommended to arrive early.

Dogs

There is NOT a Dog Show at Burwarton Show

Visitors are welcome to bring dogs to the Show as long as they are kept on a short lead and remain under control. However, a visit to the Show can be a long day and there are crowds of people; it might be wise to make alternative arrangements for your dog.

Please note that dogs are strictly NOT permitted in any of the Marquees or in the Livestock Area.

Owners are responsible for clearing up after their dogs.

Dogs are NOT to be left in vehicles.

Waste Management

All waste from the event is returned to Smiths-Gloucester site where they recycle as much as possible with the residue going to an Energy from Waste plant where it is burnt at very high temperatures to produce electricity for homes and businesses. This ensures our event benefits from ZERO TO LANDFILL, thus assisting with our environmental impact.

Baby Changing facilities

will be available adjacent to the Children’s Play area.

Lost and found Children and other vulnerable persons

If you lose or find a child on the showground please report immediately to a steward. If a child (or other vulnerable person) is found, or reported lost, immediately contact the Show Secretary (located in tent on bottom side of the main ring next to the main PA tower) or any show steward, show security or the Police.

Disabled Carer / PA Ticket scheme

One complimentary entry ticket will be available for a Carer / PA of a qualifying disabled visitor to enable them to access the show on production of at least one of the following Supporting Documents

  • Middle or Higher Rate DLA for care and/or mobility
  • Receipt of personal independence payment (PIP)
  • Evidence of being severely sight impaired
  • Recognised assistance dog ID card

First Aid

First aid will be provided by Marches Ambulance Service, Leominster.

First Aid posts will be situated in the Livestock field, Horse field and opposite the Secretary’s Tent on the bottom side of the Main Ring. If you need their assistance at the Show, please speak to the nearest steward who will be able to help you.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited in any enclosed or partially enclosed public area.  All cigarette ends should be disposed of once cooled in the bins provided. The Showground is a working farm field, please do not drop and leave on the ground.

Identification Wristbands

Wristbands will be available at the public entrance gates.

Parents are encouraged to collect a wristband and write their mobile number numbers on it before placing on the child’s wrist. This will assist in resolving lost child situations.

Toilets

Toilets are situated at various locations around the Showground with facilities for disabled visitors located close to the Main entrance, in the Members Disabled Vehicle car park, on the horse field and in the Members Pavilion and are marked on the showground map.

Cash facilities

To make our traders lives easier, please try and bring cash with you where possible. Most traders and caterers will have access to WiFi for card payment transactions but some may not. There will be a cash machine on the Showground near the Secretary’s Tent and cash is available from the Post Office just outside Entrance 2 to the showground.

Information points

Information can be obtained from the Information Point at the entrance to the Members Pavilion bar or from the Secretary’s Tent.

Mobile / landline telephone service

Please be aware that the mobile phone service across the Showground on Show Day is very sporadic and unreliable.

The landline number located in the Secretary’s Tent will be 01746 787400 for emergency purposes.

Hand washing and hygiene

It is strongly recommended that anyone coming into direct contact with animals should wash their hands immediately afterwards and in particular before eating. Hand washing facilities will be located in the Livestock area.

Lost and found property

If you lose or find any valuables/lost property on the Showground please take the items to the Secretary’s Tent located on the bottom side of the Main Ring where they will be logged and stored for collection.

Please do not leave your belongings unattended at any time.  The organisers will not be responsible for any loss of property at the Show.

Lost property left after the day will be held at the Show Office for six months. Anyone wishing to claim lost items should contact the Show Manager to arrange collection after the Monday following the Show.

Emergency

Should an emergency occur at the Show please contact the nearest steward or member of security who will be able to assist you.

Catering and bars

Numerous mobile catering units are located around the Showground and provide a wide choice of snacks, ice cream, sandwiches and drinks.
